Join Thomson Family Adventures on the first trip inside of the continental US. There’s nothing like a family vacation right in your backyard! Explore magnificent National parks, drive through desert scenery, swim in the Colorado River, and hike through sandstone valleys with your family on this fun-filled close to home adventure.

Child Discount: $200 per child under 12 

Triple Discount: $300 for children under 12 sharing with 2 adults

Alumni Discount: if you are a returning Thomson guest, please subtract $500 per family from these prices

Price includes:  All entrance fees, family style accommodations, land transportation, private naturalist guide, all meals except 1 dinner, bottled water & snacks in the vehicle, Comprehensive Travel Insurance.

Day 1: Arrive Phoenix / Sonoran Desert Tour

Get introduced to the Southwest US in Phoenix with a trip into the Sonoran Desert looking at the unique flora and fauna of the ecosystem.

Days 2-4: Visit Monument Valley / Explore Moab / Float Down the Colorado River

Travel to Monument Valley and meet local Navajo and learn about the significance of Navajo sand paintings in their culture.

 Explore Newspaper Rock, a preserved site of petroglyphs that displays art from cultures that existed in the area up to 1,500 years ago. There are over 100 petroglyphs on the rock, created by several cultures from Navajo and Pueblo to Anasazi and Anglo. Spend a day hiking in Arches National Park and see the breathtaking natural red rock stone arches and have an adventure on the Colorado River.

Days 5-8: Explore Bryce Canyon / Enjoy a Classic Horseback Trail Ride / Discover Zion National Park

Venture into Bryce Canyon National Park and see the incredible and strange looking “hoodoos,” orange, purple, and pink shaded sandstone spires.

 In Zion, the sandstone walls raise more than 1,000 feet above the fertile valley floor. Zion National Park covers 229 square miles of land, with its most prominent feature being Zion Canyon. Hike and wade upstream through the Virgin River, in Zion Canyn, and see just how tall some of the sandstone walls are by just looking up!

Day 9: Depart Las Vegas / Arrive Home

End your adventure in Las Vegas with a farewell dinner and an evening free to explore!

National Parks
 The US is home to a beautiful and unique National Parks system. A few favorite parks are in the Southwest, in Utah and Arizona. Explore Bryce Canyon National Park and Zion National Park. Both parks are large, uninterrupted, and home to unique geological formations, ancient history and civilizations, and gorgeous scenery.
There is a lot to do in the Southwest. The red sand deserts are rich with outdoor activities that are sure to pull anyone away from their screen. Any kind of activity from hiking and mountain biking to swimming and rafting can be found here.
