Dear Thomson Families,

The morning air is crisp this week both a relief from the heat wave, and a sinking feeling that fall and winter are around the corner.  Quick, have an excellent summer vacation, whether you are around the globe or in your own back yard. Tell us, what was your favorite outing this season?

Read on, and happy adventuring!

What is the Best Trip Ever?:

Beth is back from Thailand and has declared this our best adventure ever. From the guides to the elephants, the rafting to the hiking and even a side trip to the Tiger Park it is a whirlwind of discovery and adventure. Be sure to catch her video on our Facebook page or on our website; she says this was the best zip line in the world. Other families on the trip endlessly discussed which was better our family safari, or Thailand. Thailand won (and that is a first)! Our December 21 departure is sold out, but we are thinking of adding December 29 January 7, for those of you who dont need to rush back to school. Whos onboard? Also, if you've traveled with us before, what was your best trip? Why? If you haven't traveled with us, what has been your favorite family vacation destination? We'd love to hear from you!

Nicole is in Turkey:

From Istanbul to the underground cities of Cappadocia, to Ephesus and sailing on a traditional gulet in the Mediterranean, Nicole is off on one of my personal favorites. Beth and Nicole did a bit of dueling photos on Instagram scroll through some great visuals here:

Speaking of turkey:

What have you got planned for Thanksgiving week? We have several adventures running, like Panama, Peru, and Costa Rica. Or come to a slice of heaven in Baja where this time of year you can participate in a baby sea turtle release on the beach.

New England this week:

If you are vacationing in New England, or even just live here check out the 80th Annual Craftsmen's Fair in Sunapee, NH. Food crafts, and workshops for everyone of all ages, and it runs through August 11.

Moo is off to Brazil:

At the end of this month Ill be on a scouting trip checking out hotels, activities, and the natural wonders of Iguazu Falls, the Pantanal, Rio, and Salvador (don't I have a great job?!). Though well avoid the crowds and inflated prices during the 2014 World Cup, we will be offering family adventures in Brazil both winter and summer. Stay tuned, and let me know if you want to be on the Brazil list!

Social Time:

We think it might be time to remind you of a few places to find, follow, and recommend us on the worldwide web. Were here on Facebook , with great photos and a place to write your reviews. Or how about the Family Travel Forum on Trip Advisor? Instagram? Google Plus ? Pinterest?

Why take your children out into the world?:

Here is a fun book review with some awesome kid-quotes about the joys of traveling as a child.

Our RIDDLE - and another Super-Smart Genius Award

You're riding a horse. To the right of you is a cliff and in front of you is an elephant moving at the same pace and you can't overtake it. To the left of you is a hippo running at the same speed and a lion is chasing you. How do you get to safety?

We'll be drawing a name from a TFA hat in five days. If we draw YOUR name and you've answered correctly, you'll win a Super-Smart Genius Award worth $200 off your next Thomson Family Adventure. Please solve this with your brain power, though you are allowed to consult your very clever children. Cheating is not allowed (and I'll know if you do!).

If you haven't taken our travel survey before, click here to take it and save $300 on your next adventure.
