Read on, and happy adventuring!

Bargain of the month

We have one big opportunity this summer to see Ecuador and the Galapagos at a significant discount. If you can travel August 22 - 30 and always wanted to see a blue-footed booby up close, you can save $1000 per person! This departure is limited to 10 passengers, so don't delay - call today.

On the road with Nancy

Adventuring with our staff is always a blast. After all, we're starved for in-person interaction with our clients (let's face it, phone and email get kind of old) and you get the opportunity for a glimpse into our life behind the scenes. Right now we have two opportunities for you to travel with Nancy:
June 20 - 28, Costa Rica Art Trip
Take a family adventure and add in Nancy, painting, a cool art instructor AND the rainforest - and you have a real trip of a lifetime!
August 1 - 15, China Adventure
See the Olympic Bird's Nest stadium in Beijing, hike the Great Wall, hold a baby panda, and make dumplings for dinner... Join Nancy and three other families with kids ages 10 to 13 on an exploration of China, a world like none other.

Postcards from Buster!

In the spring of 2007, WGBH (the local PBS television station in Boston) came to Thomson Family Adventures because of our expertise in family travel, and for our connections with schools and children around the world. Buster wanted to go someplace exotic! Jim and Kerry worked diligently with them to find just the right place, the right kids and the right people for them to work with on this adventure. Eventually a crew was sent off to Egypt, where our local colleagues continued to work with WGBH in the filming. The resulting Postcards From Buster episode "Adventures from Egypt" has now been nominated by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for an Emmy award in the category of "Outstanding Children's Series." Congratulations to Buster, his hard working crew, and our colleagues in Egypt who all made this dream a reality. Good luck at the awards ceremony in August!

Family profile - join Diane, Dan and Doug in Peru July 19th!

We have so many interesting families that travel with Thomson, I wanted to start introducing some. First up: the Soule family from Missouri. Dan is a healthcare technology expert who travels the globe and runs for exercise and stress relief. Diane is a healthcare consultant and has recently developed the Soulear Take-Along Hearing Aid Case. Clearly, she has travel on her mind! She uses a trainer to stay fit (otherwise, she says, she'd be a couch potato). 14 year old Doug loves basketball and videos games, and hopes to play football in high school this fall. Speedy, the 4th family member, is a wire fox terrier who is sad that he is not invited to join them in Peru this summer. Like most Thomson families, they like the beach yet can only take so much laying around. The family plans to get the most from Peru's ancient civilizations and we've set up a visit to the Amazon for them, too. Come join their adventures in Peru, July 19 - 26.

Tanzania Conservation Award

Our sister company, Thomson Safaris, has recently been honored with the 2009 Tanzania Conservation Award, given by the Tanzania Tourist Board. The award specifically recognizes the company's efforts in establishing and supporting the Enashiva Nature Refuge, a community-based conservation project east of the Serengeti. To experience first hand what Thomson is doing in Tanzania, call us about our amazing family safaris, with so much more than just the best wildlife viewing in Africa!

Our RIDDLE - and another Super-smart Genius Award!

What can run but never walks, has a mouth but never talks, has a head but never weeps, has a bed but never sleeps?

Be the FIRST person to answer correctly, and win a Super-smart Genius Award worth $200 off your next Thomson Family Adventure. Please solve this with your brain power, though you are allowed to consult your very clever children. Cheating is not allowed (and I'll know if you do!).
