How do you get your teens excited about going on a family vacation? Simple. Give them a vacation that includes what they like - adventure, challenge, time with peers, adrenaline-pumping action and time to chill. Plus, cool stuff that's, well, too grown up for little kids (who by the way are not on the same trips) like learning to use a GPS tracking device in Ecuador, camping on the Inca trail in Peru and surfing in Costa Rica.
We loved our Thomson trip with our teenage son Phil and can’t wait to do another. He really bonded with all the teens on the trip, and still keeps in touch with them. Even now, one year after the trip, he has just returned home from a visit with one of the other kids on the trip. As an only child, having other teens to share the trip with made all the difference in the experience.

If a group departure date doesn’t suit your time frame, we can usually arrange a time that will. We can also organize completely customized, private adventures for you and your family. We know that your family is unique and may want to travel alone, at your own pace. Or maybe you want to see different sites than those on our scheduled itineraries. Almost all of our adventures lend themselves to customization, but below is the list of the ones that we've found have worked the best.
Our custom trip to Tanzania was really a “lifetime” trip. Seeing all the amazing animals with our children is something we will always cherish. Family Reunions
When was the last time your extended family got together? My husband and I celebrated our 50th anniversary by taking our family – thirteen in all, ages 10 to 77 – on Thomson’s trip to the Galapagos and the Highlands of Ecuador. The trip was a total success, with TFA giving assistance in trip planning, making all the necessary reservations at beautiful haciendas and providing terrific guides. Hats off to TFA for an outstanding family experience!
